NOC midterm

I am taking this class to understand, a little better, the nature of code…And now for the midterm… I will be experimenting with forces, sin waves, the beauty of waves, and code that simulates some of the glorious beauty found in the natural world…

I will experiment with making something as it needs to be… my point of departure is using the code I have from class, but I have no intention of trying too hard to make something beautiful. I am going to simply experiment and try to understand the nature of the code that I am working with, and if what emerges from it is beautiful, then great, and if it is ugly, so be it. I am just going to make something that is truly how I feel, and let it emerge, and I want to be really honest with the whole process, that is all I really want, sincerity with the code that I am using, and a sense of comprehension, rather than distance, or fear, or anything ridiculous that letters and numbers were never meant to make you feel anyways.

I know I intended to make something beautiful and using my designs to make something physical... Ultimately I would want to use laser-cutting technology to do something that would be too tedious to do by hand or otherwise… Regardless, I am still aiming for such a project, whether it happens this semester or not I am uncertain, but for now I will let whatever emerges from these beautiful examples emerge: http://www.shiffman.net/teaching/the-nature-of-code
